It will be developed with the support of NVIDIA, a world leader in artificial intelligence

SANTO DOMINGO.– The Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, inaugurated the construction of the Dominican Republic's Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CEIA-RD) yesterday, Monday, June 22. This strategic initiative seeks to strengthen national capabilities in research, talent development, innovation, and technological development, consolidating the country as a regional leader in artificial intelligence.

The CEIA-RD will be developed with the support of NVIDIA, a world leader in artificial intelligence, and will become a benchmark space for the development of solutions based on this technology, as well as applied research, specialized training and collaboration between the public sector, academia and the private sector, explains a press release from the Ministry.

“This center represents a commitment to Dominican talent, to innovation, and to building a more competitive country, where technology is a tool to generate opportunities and improve the quality of life of citizens,” Paliza said during the event.

He explained that the center will function as a national laboratory for applied artificial intelligence, an advanced school for the development of Dominican talent, a platform to promote technological innovation, and a space for collaboration among the main players in the national innovation ecosystem.
