This regulatory framework provides the business sector with a clear platform to support its procurement processes, protect the value of its brands, and ensure the continuity of its cross-border operations.

In light of this situation, María Esteve, partner and managing director of LLYC for the Dominican Republic, Panama and Ecuador, explains that the map of nearshoring and industrial relocation in Latin America is going through a phase of sophistication in which the country starts with quantitative and qualitative advantages.

The executive emphasizes that "in today's global trade, there is a shared responsibility, in which purchasing companies demand proven assurances regarding the ethical conduct of all intermediate production links." In this context, she points out that "the strength of the Dominican Republic's export infrastructure and its capacity to guarantee transparent traceability solidify the country as an important ally for large multinationals seeking stability in the Caribbean basin.".

This operational framework directly impacts key sectors of the national economy, such as manufacturing free zones, retail trade, the distribution of industrial inputs, and the agro-industry.

Strengthening these international and local standards allows exporting and importing companies to document the reliability of their inputs and the transparency of their supply chains, ensuring a rapid technical response to customs requirements and supporting the commercial reputation of their inventories in destination markets.

It is in this sense that Iban Campo, general manager of LLYC in the Dominican Republic, emphasizes that "corporate prevention constitutes the greatest insurance policy to protect the reputation of the country's iconic companies, making quality and governance their main credential of presentation.".

The executive argues that "organizations that delve deeper into advanced compliance programs and international commercial security certifications will be able to access preferential customs clearance channels and priority notifications, accelerating their commercial dynamism.".

Campo concludes that the current challenge is to consolidate proactive leadership in corporate governance, where supply chain transparency translates into greater investor confidence, consumer loyalty, and long-term market sustainability.
