SANTO DOMINGO. – The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (Minerd) announced that the first round of the 2026 National Exams begins this Tuesday, June 23. 111,994 students from Secondary Education and the Adult and Youth Education program will participate in the process.
The educational entity explained that the evaluations corresponding to the Secondary level will be carried out until Friday, June 26, and cover students from the Academic, Technical Professional and Arts modalities, from 3,002 educational centers in the country.
Mathematics opens the day
According to the Ministry of Education, the first day of assessments began this Tuesday with the subject of Mathematics.
On Wednesday, June 24, students will be examined in Spanish Language, while on Thursday, June 25, they will be examined in Social Sciences. Finally, on Friday, June 26, the process will conclude with the Natural Sciences exams.
The assessments for students in Secondary Education for Young People and Adults will be administered on June 27 and 28.
More than 9,000 authorized headquarters centers
The Ministry of Education indicated that the operation is coordinated by the Learning Assessment Directorate, a department of the Vice Ministry of Supervision and Quality Control of Education, and has the participation of the regional and district directorates.
For the application of the tests, 9,013 host centers were enabled throughout the national territory, where students must arrive one hour in advance to facilitate the organization and compliance with the established protocols.
The institution reminded everyone that the tests for the Secondary level officially begin at 9:00 a.m.
Evaluation and monitoring
The Ministry of Education (Minerd) assured that the process has monitoring and follow-up mechanisms at the district, regional and national levels, with the purpose of guaranteeing the transparency, reliability and quality of the evaluations.
He also highlighted that the National Tests, implemented at the Secondary level since 1994, aim to certify the learning achieved by students and provide information that contributes to the strengthening and continuous improvement of educational quality.
