Royal Caribbean International's new Icon of the Seas cruise ship, listed as the world's largest, will include Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic as part of its destinations for the launch of its 2025-2026 season.
The Bride of the Atlantic will be included in the 7-night Eastern Caribbean route, sailing from Miami.
Tourists will be able to explore picturesque locations from new destinations: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie and St. Thomas.
In addition to two or three days at sea, each cruise includes a visit to Royal Caribbean's award-winning private island, Perfect Day at Coco Cay, which features Hideaway Beach, a new adults-only beachfront paradise opening in January 2024.
Royal Caribbean International's Icon of the Seas is 365 meters long and weighs approximately 250,800 tons. It will have a capacity for 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew members.
Highlights of the experiences offered include the world's largest water park at sea, dubbed Category 6, which will feature six water slides, as well as seven swimming pools and nine hot tubs on board.
The ship promises over 40 ways to dine, drink, and be entertained, many of which are included in the cruise fare. With 20 decks and eight themed areas to explore, the idea is to cater to all types of vacationers, from areas dedicated to young families to adults-only spaces.
