This is how official agencies are forecasting the weather conditions for this weekend

SANTO DOMINGO - The National Forecast Center of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology ( INDOMET ), in its latest bulletin at 6:00 pm yesterday, Thursday, April 16, modified the warning and alert due to the risk of urban flooding, as well as rising rivers, streams and ravines, in addition to possible landslides and isolated hailstorms, highlighting that the country continues to be under the effects of a trough.

The agency states in the report that the levels could change over the next 24 to 72 hours. However, it forecasts that the trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Caribbean coast and the northeast of the country starting Friday morning.

"In the afternoon, there will be occasional heavy downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind over provinces of the Caribbean coastal region, the Cibao Valley, the eastern plains, the Central mountain range and the border area; such as: Greater Santo Domingo, San José de Ocoa, San Cristóbal, La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macorís, Peravia, Barahona, Pedernales, María Trinidad Sánchez, La Romana, Monte Plata, Samaná, Monseñor Nouel, El Seibo and Hato Mayor," INDOMET details.

It calls for vigilance against the risk of urban flooding, as well as rising rivers, streams and ravines, in addition to possible landslides and isolated hailstorms.
