Banreservas opens its second office abroad

In New York, President Luis Abinader inaugurated a Representative Office of Banco de Reservas yesterday, the second such office to begin operations abroad to serve the financial needs of the Dominican diaspora. The first office opened last January in Madrid, Spain.

The new facilities of the Dominican state bank operate on Amsterdam Avenue at the corner of 181st Street in Washington Heights, where a large Dominican community resides; while a third branch will soon be inaugurated in Miami, as part of Banreservas' internationalization plan.

The general manager of Banreservas stated that this office represents a great opportunity, after which he highlighted that New York is home to the largest and most prestigious banks in the world, which have greater global reach and more financial capital.

The opening hours for the public at these facilities will be from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pereyra added that there are also the largest stock exchanges, which move billions of dollars daily in investments from multinational companies that impact tens of millions of people worldwide; in addition, the state of New York is the third largest economy in the United States.

He explained that obtaining the required permits from the Federal Reserve of the United States demanded a great effort from the financial institution, which was made possible thanks to the great vision of the Board of Directors and the executives of the bank's business areas.

“This dream could never have come true without the unconditional support of President Luis Abinader, who, from the first day he learned of this project, was excited about us and encouraged us to keep going until we achieved what we have achieved today,” the official emphasized.

Noting that millions of people from different countries and cultures meet and interact daily in New York City, he said that Banreservas is one of the largest banks in the Caribbean and one of the most profitable in the area, and that it is a bank that represents the values of Dominicans.

He stated that the opening of the new Banreservas representative office was eagerly awaited by Dominicans residing in the Big Apple and other US cities, who have expressed this in various settings.

When the one in Spain was inaugurated, Pereyra assured that a branch would also be opened in Panama, in addition to Miami.
