The Weekly Agenda: the new program that President Luis Abinader will inaugurate this Monday the 24th

The first edition will be dedicated to the start of the school year, where Abinader will lead an executive meeting with the Education sector team

SANTO DOMINGO. – President Luis Abinader will launch the Weekly Agenda this Monday, August 24, at 5:00 p.m. , a new work and communication platform that will allow citizens to learn firsthand how the president oversees, monitors, and works with his teams on the execution of the country's main priorities.

The event will be an executive meeting led by the president, accompanied by ministers, directors and officials responsible for the topic selected for each working session.

Each week, the program will address a different topic and offer citizens a glimpse into how the head of state works, overseeing implementation, reviewing results, identifying obstacles, making decisions, and coordinating solutions with the officials responsible for each area, according to a press release from the Presidency.

The meeting will be streamed live, allowing citizens to directly observe a working dynamic focused on monitoring, evaluation, and the pursuit of concrete results.

Monitoring of public management

The Presidency explains that the Weekly Agenda was created to show an essential dimension of public management: the ongoing work behind every decision, every public policy, and every result.

He emphasizes that it will be a management space where President Abinader will listen to his teams, ask questions, review indicators, evaluate commitments, and establish the necessary actions to move forward on each of the topics discussed, noting that the purpose is for citizens to know not only what the Government does, but also how it works to make it possible.

Each edition will seek to answer specific questions: Where are we? What has been achieved? What difficulties exist? What remains to be done? What decisions need to be made and what are the next steps?

The Weekly Agenda will open a window to the place where priorities become decisions: the working table where they are reviewed, demanded, coordinated and resolved.

The school year will debut the new space

The first edition will be dedicated to the start of the school year, where Abinader will lead an executive meeting with the Education sector team, led by Minister Luis Miguel De Camps, to review the preparation of the education system for the return to classrooms.

During the meeting, the main actions developed for the start of classes, the situation of educational centers, the availability of resources, the progress achieved, the pending challenges and the immediate priorities of the sector will be presented.

A different topic each week

Economy, citizen security, infrastructure, health, housing, energy and other strategic issues will be reviewed directly by President Abinader along with the officials responsible for each area.

The statement maintains that this model will allow citizens to see the Government in action, learn how public policies are monitored, how obstacles are faced, and how solutions are coordinated from the Presidency, specifying that it seeks to bring public management closer to the people and strengthen a culture of monitoring, execution, and results, transparently showing the work done behind the country's main decisions.
