SANTO DOMINGO– The Ministry of Labor reiterates to businesses, employees, and workers throughout the country that Saturday, August 16, 2025, the date on which the Restoration of the Republic Day is celebrated, will not be changed. It is a holiday.
Therefore, the public and private sectors must return to their regular work on Sunday, August 17, except for workers who have Sundays off, who will return on Monday, August 18, as established by Law 139-97, which governs the application of holidays.
In those businesses that, by their nature, must remain open to the public, workers must receive additional compensation, in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code.
