In an effort to recognize and support their work, the Big 3 PGA Ocean's 4 Golf Tournament was held to benefit the caddies of the renowned golf course, located in the exclusive Playa Nueva Romana residential area.
The third edition of this charity tournament has become a tradition, which aims not only to promote solidarity within the golfing community, but also to highlight the crucial role played by caddies in the success of the players.
The Royal Spanish Academy defines the word caddie as the person who carries the clubs to a golf player.
The Big 3 PGA Ocean's 4 tournament was held in the 'Scramble Pair + Caddie' format and featured the participation of more than 100 golfers, who competed in a festive and friendly atmosphere, officially kicking off the Christmas season at the renowned golf course, according to a press release from Grupo Piñero.
“This tournament has become a very special activity for PGA Oceans’s 4 as it welcomes Christmas to our course and expresses gratitude for the work and commitment of this group of people, who strive every day to accompany and improve the experience of the players who visit us throughout the year,” said Carlos de Linares Sáez, general manager of PGA Ocean’s 4.
In this edition, the press release adds, the scratch champion team was made up of Santino Doglioli, Freddy Carvajal, and Carlos Antonio de la Cruz. Meanwhile, José Miguel Tavarez, Junior Hernández, and Carlos de Linares were the runners-up in the handicap category.

"The Caribbean Sea setting of PGA Ocean's 4, the second PGA-affiliated golf course in Latin America and the third in the world outside the U.S., offered a unique experience for all participants in the sporting event, where funds and donations from sponsoring companies were given to the caddies in recognition of their comprehensive contribution to the sport and the passion with which they perform their duties in every practice and tournament," the press release states.
Big 3 PGA Ocean's 4 thanked the brands Playa Nueva Romana, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, Green Garden, JM Tavaréz, Big Brands, G&G Promo, Vallas Universal, Ron Barceló, JL Graphics, Cigarros La Aurora, Santino Doglioli, Constdelaro, Radio America 900, Casa Paco SA, Montajes del Caribe, Vita La Pizza, Almacenes Zaglul, Club Car, Enterex, Rovertz SRL, Tech City, Dr. Gabriel Morales, José Hazim Frappier and Councilor Kayra Vizcaíno who, with their support, made the meeting possible.
About PGA Ocean's 4
PGA Ocean's 4 is located in the bay of the Bahia Principe La Romana complex, within the same complex as Playa Nueva Romana, and has a total of 27 holes spread over two golf courses, strategically located with ocean views, the Piñero group's press release highlights.
He adds that the golf courses, one an 18-hole, par-72 course and the other a 9-hole, par-3 course, have been designed to make full use of the diverse topography, which includes multiple levels and slopes. This not only gives the course a distinctive character but also adds an extra level of challenge to the playing experience.
