Due to the effects of the hurricane, line 1 of the Santo Domingo Cable Car is suspended

SANTO DOMINGO.-The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET) reported this Tuesday the suspension of service on line 1 of the Santo Domingo Cable Car, due to the effects of wind gusts caused by Hurricane Beryl.

In a statement, the entity indicated that the service was suspended on both sections, National District-Sabana Perdida and Charles de Gaulle-Sabana Perdida, until weather conditions improve.

He reiterated that the safety of users is his priority and that the OPRET Emergency Committee is working in permanent session. 

On this occasion, it was not reported whether the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services buses will offer alternative transportation, as on other occasions.

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased to 24 the total number of provinces under alert for the possible effects of Hurricane Beryl on the Dominican Republic this Tuesday.

Of the total number of provinces, two are under red alert, 11 under yellow alert, and 11 under green alert. The provinces under red alert are Barahona and Pedernales.
