SANTO DOMINGO.- The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET) announced yesterday, Monday, that it will extend the operations of the Santo Domingo metro to facilitate transportation for users attending the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, in its final week of competition.
The measure was adopted from Monday, August 3, until the conclusion of the regional multi-sport event next Saturday, August 8, according to a statement from the organization.
He explains that the extension of the Santo Domingo metro's operating hours will run until 11:00 at night, allowing users to attend nighttime competitions in various disciplines held in the Dominican capital and return safely via this mode of transportation.
He adds that the service will also be available to the more than 6,200 athletes, coaches and delegates from the 37 countries participating in the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games being held in Santo Domingo.
