SANTO DOMINGO.-The opportunity to plan vacations began last Thursday with the inauguration of the twenty-third edition of CTN Vacation Expo Fair, dedicated to Ambassador Frank Hans Dannenberg Castellano, in posthumous tribute.
The opening ceremony of the event took place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo hotel, where, in addition to highlighting the details of the celebration, representatives of the tourism sector were recognized.
Arturo and Sonia Villanueva, representing the San Judas Tadeo parish, blessed the fair. Following this, Miguel Calzada, president of CTN and Puro Turismo, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing that admission was free and that the fair would be held in the Ópalo Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for three days.
He announced that the activity includes an area for children, giving parents the opportunity to enjoy a space full of attractions.
In addition to the keynote address that took place yesterday, Friday, under the theme "Sargassum: A great challenge for the Dominican Republic - Solutions", which featured panelists Katja Afheldt, European Union Ambassador to the Dominican Republic; Jimmy García Saviñón, President of the National Maritime Affairs Authority (ANAMAR); and Ulises Jauregui, from the Sargassum University Network; Andrés Bisonó León, General Manager of SOS Carbón and Frederick González Soriano, Sales Manager of Algeanova.
The event features the main local banks. As in previous years, the work of companies and individuals who contribute to the improvement of the Dominican tourism sector was honored, including:
The Dominican Republic Hotel and Tourism Association (Asonahores) for the important support it offers to the development of Dominican tourism; Dominican businessmen Rafael and Jorge Feliz Germán, president of Karisma Hotels & Resorts RD, for their promotion and support; Spanish businessman Enrique Martinon García, president of Grupo Martinon, for his continuity, vision and support; as well as Minoru Matsunaga, Brigadier General of the National Police and central director of the Tourist Police (Politur) for his dedication to the safety and protection of tourists.
