SANTO DOMINGO- The General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett) reported that they have "everything ready" to begin touring today, Easter Sunday.
This was reported by the head of the institution, Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, who added that the roadwork will take place simultaneously at 2:00 p.m. on the Duarte highway, on the Sánchez and 6 de Noviembre highways and on the Las Américas and Coral highways.
On the Eastern Highway, it will start from Punta Cana to the Juan Carlos Bridge of the Las Américas Highway, Santo Domingo province.
On the Duarte Highway, the starting point was the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, extending to kilometer 25 of that same road.
In the Southern region, the road begins in the municipality of Baní and ends at the tollbooth on the 6 de Noviembre highway.
Guzmán Peralta said that it is "widely demonstrated that the best way to prevent accidents is through towing," because, according to him, the entity's units take control and ensure that travelers move at a moderate speed.
The purpose of the event is to ensure the safe return of people who went on vacation or visited their families during the Easter holiday to different parts of the country.

During the traditional car parade, Digesett agents position themselves in front of the vehicles to control the speed of drivers and prevent traffic accidents, a measure implemented due to the high number of people returning at the same time from different towns in the Dominican Republic.
