Study on the construction sector in Santiago presented 

SANTIAGO.- In an event held at the Business Building of this Cibao municipality, APROCOVICI, the Association of Housing Promoters and Builders, presented the results of the study "Economic Sizing of the Construction Sector in the province of Santiago," which highlights the current situation of this important field of the national economy in that area .

The study was presented by Freddy Peña, Raúl Ovalle Marte, and Gustavo Valdez and was sponsored by several companies linked to the real estate industry in the country. It was conducted by the firms Silver, Analytica, Larc, and Cristóbal Valdez & Asociados.

Landy Colón, president of APROCOVICI, a key player in updating current regulations and promoting these types of initiatives in municipalities bordering Santiago de los Caballeros, said in his speech that the first part of the research managed to identify the most attractive areas for real estate investment, analyze supply and demand, cite urban development trends, among other elements.

"During the last five years, the construction sector in Santiago has grown more rapidly than in the rest of the country, according to metrics of GDP, employment, average labor income and sales reported to the General Directorate of Internal Taxes," said Landy Colón. 

In a panel discussion, Raúl Ovalle and Gustavo Valdez presented the most important findings of the study. (External source).

The research highlights that between 2016 and 2021, Santiago's total investment in infrastructure and the development of real estate and residential complexes reached RD$63,008 billion. Of this amount, three out of every four pesos were invested by the private sector.
