SANTO DOMINGO.-The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) announced this Wednesday the opening of alternate routes, starting this coming Friday, August 16, due to the activities surrounding the inauguration of President Luis Abinader.
In that regard, vehicle traffic will be controlled in the vicinity of the National Theater, on Máximo Gómez Avenue, and the National Congress, on Jiménez Moya Avenue, so citizens are advised to use Independencia, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln Avenues.
Other alternative routes enabled in the National District correspond to Horacio Vicioso and Hé r oes de Luperón streets .
At the same time, Intrant will implement, starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 15, another special plan that will facilitate the flow of traffic, due to the activities that will be taking place in the Colonial City.

Users traveling east are advised to use Pedro Henríquez Ureña, México and 27 de Febrero avenues from Máximo Gómez.
Meanwhile, those traveling west are advised to use Mexico Avenue.
For this plan of intermittent street closures, the agency coordinated with the corresponding municipalities. In this context, Intrant asks for the public's understanding and explains that the measure is in addition to other actions already being taken to ensure families can travel safely on the roads.
Citizens are also asked not to park in restricted areas or carry out work on public roads without prior authorization.
