SANTO DOMINGO –The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET) announced that, starting this Monday, the Santo Domingo Metro will extend its hours until midnight and offer free service after 10:30 p.m., with the aim of facilitating mobility in the city of Santo Domingo.
In this regard, the Santo Domingo Metro will operate temporarily and until further notice, from Monday to Sunday, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight.
The extended metro hours, among other solutions announced yesterday by the central government, seek to offer an immediate solution to the mobility challenges generated after the closure of the overpass at Ave. 27 de Febrero with Av. Máximo Gómez in both directions.
It is also reported that Line 1 of the Santo Domingo Cable Car will maintain its regular schedule, while the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA) will extend its service hours until 11:00 at night.
Also, with the purpose of facilitating alternative routes for those affected by the closure of the underpass on Ave. 27 de Febrero, citizens are urged to use optional transit platforms to optimize vehicular flow.
