Asociación La Nacional has RD$400 million to finance low-cost housing

SANTO DOMINGO.- The La Nacional Association has approximately RD$400 million available to finance low-cost housing, as part of the release of RD$21,424.4 million of the legal reserve announced by the Central Bank, for the channeling of loans for the construction and acquisition of housing.

This was reported yesterday by Gustavo Zuluaga Alam, executive vice president of that entity, during a meeting with journalists from different media outlets.

Zuluaga Alam stated that the distribution of the amount released by the Central Bank to the country's financial institutions for these purposes was carried out in proportion to the reserve held by the different entities.

The executive described the measure implemented by the monetary and exchange policy entity as positive and favorable, explaining that it increases the demand for housing every day.

He also highlighted that they have an agreement with the Dominican Government to support the Happy Family National Housing Plan.

Regarding the latter, he commented that La Nacional will facilitate financing for citizens who do not have a credit history, which is the main requirement for granting the loan.

“You will only need to open a specialized savings account for those purposes that we have and make a deposit that will then help you to begin fulfilling that obligation,” Zuluaga Alam indicated.
