The Great Real Estate Show opened last night in Colombia with the presence of more than 400 Dominican representatives

“For the first time, more than 40 Dominican companies and over 400 compatriots are in Colombia to present the real estate opportunities in our country,” said Félix Aracena, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Colombia.

With a massive presence of more than 400 representatives from real estate agencies and companies linked to the real estate, construction and tourism sectors, the 17th edition of the Great Real Estate Salon of Colombia was inaugurated last night, with the Dominican Republic as this year's guest and which will extend until next Sunday, August 13.

Félix Aracena, ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Colombia, highlighted the potential that the country has to be a relevant destination for foreign investment.

“Of the 500 largest global companies in the world, 352 have a presence in the Dominican Republic. During 2022, foreign direct investment exceeded US$4 billion, placing the country in a prestigious position compared to other Latin American economies,” the diplomat stated to a large audience gathered for the opening.

He emphasized that the Dominican Republic boasts an enviable macroeconomic stability. “Based on data from the International Monetary Fund, our country will experience the highest growth rate in Latin America and will become the third most prosperous economy in the region by 2028.”.

He added that the strategic geographic location, “a robust regulatory framework, budget transparency, legal security, political and socioeconomic stability, make the country a place full of opportunities for foreign investment,” he commented.

“The Dominican government, led by President Luis Abinader, is the main promoter of a favorable business environment, where government officials have not become competitors of entrepreneurs, creating a transparent, equitable, and equal commercial space, supported by our foreign investment law, with a firm commitment to simplifying the business model in our country. In the Dominican Republic, a company can be incorporated in 24 hours,” Aracena stated.

He emphasized that in the construction and real estate sectors it is also possible to internationalize capital and generate productive linkages, through the creation of strategic alliances between business sectors to share opportunities and not compete for markets and guarantee the development of the people, which is the goal of each one.

“I take this opportunity to thank Banco de Reservas for its collaboration in all initiatives aimed at raising the profile of our country and to express my gratitude to all participants for being part of this important event where, for the first time, more than 40 Dominican companies and more than 400 compatriots are in Colombia to present the real estate opportunities of our country,” Aracena stated.

For his part, José Ramón Holguín, Vice Minister of Monitoring and Government Coordination at the Ministry of the Presidency (Minpre), highlighted the government's programs for building low-cost housing. "Anyone who wants to invest is welcome because we help them find financing through banks, and the government acts as guarantor to ensure that the loans are repaid.".

He cited the Vivienda Feliz, Dominicana Reconstruye and Ciudad Juan Bosch programs as models that have benefited thousands of families in various locations throughout the country.
