SANTO DOMINGO.- State assets are valued at more than 30 trillion pesos, comprised of more than 46,000 properties or real estate, not including lands without buildings, revealed Rafael A. Burgos Gómez, director of National Assets.
He indicated that these findings are supported by the census of state assets that began in July 2023 and concluded in July of this year.
The head of the State Sugar Council (CEA) and the State Enterprises Corporation (Corde) also indicated that they have delivered 15,000 titles.
In the previous administration, they delivered more than 115,000 throughout the country and have a program to deliver 300,000 in this four-year administration, especially in the province of Santo Domingo.
He explained that the land titling process is complex and time-consuming because the social debt in this area is enormous. He indicated that more than 800 people are currently working on the program.
In other news, he explained that the process of merging the institutions Corde, CEA and Bienes Nacionales has been completed in 94% and has already paid 2,600 severance packages to date, which involves around 450 million pesos.
He added that the National Assets building was 75% handed over to the Purchasing and Contracting Directorate, but they retain some offices.
Gomez offered these details during a thanksgiving mass for the 76th Anniversary of the National Assets Directorate.
