SANTO DOMINGO.- From today, Friday the 28th, until Monday, May 1st, due to the Labor Day holiday, seven lanes on Las Américas will be open exclusively for users with the Paso Rápido electronic tag, to expedite traffic, as announced by the RD Vial trust.
These lanes will be available from 8:00 a.m. this Friday until 6:00 p.m. next Monday at the Las Américas toll station.
The opening of the lanes will save drivers with Rapid Passage from 120 km/h to three seconds compared to using traditional lanes that use cash, according to an analysis prepared by the operations management of RD Vial.
Regarding the improvements and updates made to the Paso Rápido reading technology system, the use of more modern software has been implemented, which also reduces Tag reading times from 15 to three seconds, RD Vial said in a press release.
That is the time it takes for the technology to check the device's balance and raise the bar that allows the vehicle to pass quickly and safely.
Paso Rápido points of sale
Regarding the holiday, RD Vial reported that it has enabled new points of sale and installation of the device, including Hola Market, on the Las Américas Highway and in the office of the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett) on this road.
