SANTO DOMINGO – Samir Rodríguez Molina, Founder and CEO of SAVAL Constructora, believes the Dominican Republic is a leader in construction models in Latin America. He bases his assertion on the confidence the country inspires in the region, reflected in the large number of investors currently developing projects throughout the nation.
The civil engineer, with more than 20 years of experience in the Dominican market, observes that the profession he practices is currently in constant growth and evolution, both in the human aspect as well as in the supplies and new techniques in its use.
Speaking to El Inmobiliario, on the occasion of the country's "Engineer's Day" being commemorated today, August 14, the professional cited what he believes to be the challenges of the profession: "Making the construction method more efficient to shorten project execution times, good administrative management, constant budget control and control of the execution schedule.".

“Our sector has evolved into novel and innovative projects, contributing to the vertical growth of a modern city. This is thanks to the vision of new trends and influences that are reflected in all the novelty of the market,” he points out.
Regarding the sustainable trends shaping the construction sector worldwide, Rodríguez Molina explains that in the country, builders are increasingly focused on using new materials that allow for a smaller environmental footprint on the planet.
“For us, this process begins with the project design and culminates in implementing measures for the project's development and implementation after delivery. Our projects include sustainability measures: solar panels, electric vehicle chargers, automated sensors, and thermal insulation.”.
