SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close several structures in Greater Santo Domingo, including overpasses and bridges, to vehicular traffic from Monday, March 25th until Saturday, March 30th, in order to carry out maintenance work.
In all cases, closing times from Monday to Wednesday range from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following day, on Thursday and Saturday the closing times will be from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The work to be carried out includes solid waste collection, sweeping and aggregate collection, weed control, general cleaning of the surroundings and drainage, lower area.
This Monday, work will be carried out on the Juan Bosch and Juan Pablo Duarte bridges and the overpass on 27 de Febrero Avenue.
The long tunnel on 27 de Febrero, between Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln, will be completely closed on Monday and Tuesday.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the closure will be for the overpass of Konrad Adenauer (Charles de Gaulle) Avenue with Hermanas Mirabal Avenue, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte.
Also, on Tuesday maintenance will be carried out on the John F. Kennedy overpasses with Defilló, Kennedy with Núñez de Cáceres, the Las Américas tunnel, and the 27 de Febrero underpass with Tiradentes.
On Wednesday, the following road closures will take place: 27 de Febrero with Doctor Defilló and Carmen Mendoza, 27 de Febrero with Núñez de Cáceres, 27 de Febrero with Privada, and the Las Américas marginal road, the Kennedy overpasses with Lope de Vega and Tiradentes, Kennedy with Lincoln and the Las Américas marginal road tunnel.
On Thursday the 28th, the following underpasses will be closed: 27 de Febrero with Máximo Gómez, Kennedy with Gómez, Juan Carlos Bridge, Charles de Gaulle with Avenida Ecológica, Ecológica with Marginal Las Américas, the overpasses of 27 de Febrero with Ortega y Gasset, and Las Américas with Avenida Estados Unidos.
Also, this Thursday there will be closures at the control centers of the Ortega y Gasset tunnel (UASD), Las Américas, 27 de Febrero tunnel with Lincoln and Churchill.
On Saturday, the closure will apply to the corridors of 27 de Febrero Avenue and John F. Kennedy Avenue.
