The Deputy Minister of Road Maintenance, Mélito Santana Rincón, explained that the work to be carried out, which includes an area of around 500 meters, consists of milling the existing asphalt, compacting the ground and applying new asphalt.
He stated that for this reason, the necessary measures will be taken to ensure that traffic is not interrupted during the time the work lasts.
“Users of the Sánchez highway are informed that starting Monday, March 27, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications will be carrying out work on the Baní-Cruce de Ocoa section, at the entrance to Galión,” he said.
He said that these works aim to correct the failure that occurred at the entrance and exit of the Galion I and II bridges.
The Sánchez highway links the National District with 10 provinces in the Southern region.
“We ask for the public’s understanding, especially from drivers who regularly travel on this road, as these works will be carried out to improve traffic and preserve lives,” said Santana Rincón.
