To encourage a more sustainable lifestyle, Banco Popular announced the "Go Eco" Fair, from November 15 to 30, a period of special promotions in more than 20 stores with discounts of up to 25% and the possibility of financing solar panels, low-consumption appliances, bicycles, electric scooters and motorcycles, among others, with two points less than the regular rates.
SANTO DOMINGO– Banco Popular Dominicano has expanded its pioneering green portfolio, “Hazte Eco,” with the Extrahogar Eco and ExtraEco revolving loans and the HipotEco mortgage loan. These three new financing solutions offer preferential rates and make it easier for personal customers to purchase energy-efficient products, carry out sustainable home renovations, or buy a home with a sustainability seal.
The two revolving loans have a pre-approved limit that can be used and renewed when the customer needs it, without new applications to the bank, with the aim of transforming their home into a more sustainable one.

A customer with the Extrahogar Eco loan has up to 10 years to pay for home renovations focused on energy efficiency and sustainability, by providing proof of mortgage and project cost estimate. Meanwhile, the ExtraEco loan gives customers up to 5 years to pay for energy-efficient appliances, water or air purifiers, and small sustainable vehicles, such as electric motorcycles or bicycles, with the purchase receipt serving as collateral.
HipotEco with EDGE sustainability seal
The HipotEco mortgage loan will always have a lower interest rate than a regular mortgage, a repayment term of up to 30 years, and will cover up to 80% of the property's appraised value. To qualify for these benefits, the property must have EDGE certification.
This certification guarantees the buyer savings of 20% or more on their energy and water consumption. Furthermore, the property's value increases because it was built with sustainable materials and waste management techniques, resulting in a higher return on investment.
