Pablo Regalado Castillo: a punctual and responsible cabinetmaker who respects his clients

SANTO DOMINGO.- One of his most loyal clients describes him as a technician with a high sense of responsibility, ethical, honest, a family man who raises the flag of values in his daily work.

This refers to Pablo Regalado Castillo (Pao), a valuable man from Cotuí who arrived in the Dominican capital the same year as the famous Hurricane David, in 1979. His trajectory as a hardworking and responsible man has meant that since then, coffee has rained down on his life and that of his family.

His desire to improve himself led him to learn the trade of cabinetmaking empirically, while working as a driver in a workshop and transporting clients' orders. Previously, he had worked as a metal fabricator in Bávaro, where he also welded and practiced mechanics.

She recalls that when she opened her workshop, her first clients were a Spanish woman and a French woman, whom she thanks for placing their trust in her work, which has now borne fruit. Her Regalado Cabinetmaking workshop has three permanent employees, in addition to a network of technicians whom she hires daily for specific projects.

He has been married for 32 years to María Antonia Esquea de Regalado, with whom he had three children, two of whom are already married, aged 27 and 31; and one of 14 who is studying in high school.

“I’ve stayed afloat by being different so I can reap the rewards. With responsibility, honesty, and punctuality in my work, knowing that you live off the client and you have to respect them,” Pao states.

Their clientele ranges from banks, business owners, family homes, architects, engineers, decorators, builders, and others.

“I’ve been dealing with Pao for about 26 or 27 years, and he’s someone you can totally trust. He’s responsible with his work, someone you can leave working alone at home. He’s not a sloppy worker; he’s ethical and a man of strong values. If he says he’s coming, you can count on it; if he says he’ll deliver a job, he will. The quality of his work is guaranteed, and for me, those are important aspects of technical and professional performance,” commented journalist Altagracia Ortiz Gomez, one of his loyal clients.

His portfolio of satisfied clients lasts a lifetime. He's had the same cell phone number since 1998. During the pandemic, several clients he'd done work for up to 15 years ago contacted him to request his services.

For 43 years, Pao has been a devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Thanks to his hard work, he owns a house in the Bayona area, where he has lived for many years.

Their carpentry area includes cabinets, closets, doors, gazebos, dining sets, general wood maintenance, among other derivatives.

His policy for the longevity of his business is "not to take on work just for the sake of it." He works with a schedule, and when he receives calls requesting his services, he clearly explains to the client how much work is ahead of him. If you wish to use the services of this efficient cabinetmaker, contact him at 809-844-7471; Pao will be ready to serve and assist you.
