SANTO DOMINGO.-Starting today, Monday, February 6, and until Saturday, February 11, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close various overpasses in Greater Santo Domingo to vehicular traffic, due to maintenance work being carried out on these structures.
In each case, there will be a total closure and the hours to be in effect will be from 10:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning of the following day.
The work to be done includes solid waste collection, sweeping and aggregate collection, weed control, general cleaning of the surroundings and drainage, among others.
This Monday, the following underpasses will be closed: Mirador Sur Avenue with Italia, Núñez de Cáceres with Cayetano Germosén, with Independencia, and George Washington; Jacobo Majluta Avenue with La Isabela Highway; the Núñez de Cáceres tunnel; the Duarte Highway overpasses with Los Beisbolistas and Monumental Avenues, as well as the Jacobo Majluta Avenue bridge.
On Tuesday there will be closures on the Charles de Gaulle overpasses with the San Isidro highway and the Mella highway; the Duarte highway with Duarte street (entrance to Los Alcarrizos), and Luperón avenue with the 30 de Mayo highway.
Also on Tuesday and Saturday, the overpasses at Kilometer 13 of the Duarte Highway with Prolongación 27 de Febrero, and Avenida República de Colombia, including the one at kilometer 14 of the Duarte Highway, will be closed.
On Wednesday, the following will be closed: the Ortega y Gasset overpasses with 27 de Febrero and Máximo Gómez with Duarte Avenue; the Ozama and Gregorio Luperón bridges; the Ortega y Gasset tunnel (UASD); and the Máximo Gómez overpass with Nicolás de Ovando.
On Thursday, the closure includes the Konrad Adenauer Avenue overpass at Hermanas Mirabal; the Jacobo Majluta bridge (near the entrance to Guaricano); the overpasses of the Quinto Centenario Expressway at Duarte Avenue, Hermanos Pinzón Street and San Martín Avenue, as well as the Sánchez Highway overpass at Independencia.
On Friday the 10th, the closures include the overpasses of Prolongación 27 de Febrero with Autopista 6 de Noviembre, and the one of Avenida Padre Castellanos with Francisco del Rosario Sánchez; the bridges of Autopista 6 de Noviembre, Carretera Sánchez, Ramón Matías Mella, and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, and the overpasses of Winston Churchill with Kennedy (in both directions).
On Saturday, the following will be the overpasses at John F. Kennedy with Luperón (Kilometer 9) and San Vicente de Paul with Avenida Venezuela.
