SANTO DOMINGO- The Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) invited micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the tourism sector from both Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic to participate in the virtual sustainability workshop, which will seek to promote, raise awareness and train these companies in applying sustainable practices in their businesses.
The workshop, in online format for 1.5 hours, via the zoom platform, will take place next Tuesday, August 8 at 9:00 a.m. Costa Rica time and 11:00 a.m. Dominican Republic time, from CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean).
The main objective is to promote environmental sustainability in the tourism sector, in addition to defining aspects of the environment that most affect the achievement of environmentally sustainable development goals of the participating tourism companies.
At the same time, participants will be provided with knowledge and tools to improve sustainability in the different areas of their businesses, in addition to including digitalization as an important focus of the workshop, as explained by MITUR in a press release.
The training day will take place within the framework of the Digital Transformation Program for SMEs in the tourism sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
