Men sentenced to 20 and 10 years for the murder of architect Leslie Rosado

SANTO DOMINGO.-The First Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo East sentenced National Police Corporal Janli Disla to 20 years in prison for the death of architect Leslie Rosado in October 2021.

In that same order, he sentenced Rafael Castillo, who transported the young woman on a motorcycle during the incident, to 10 years in prison.

The sentences were handed down by the court judges after listening to and deliberating on the arguments of the lawyers.

Architect Rosado died from a gunshot wound to the head, after a chase in which she and her daughter were trying to escape from Disla in October 2021.

The defense of Lislie Rosado's family, represented by lawyers José Hopelman and Wendy Lora, asked the court for a sentence of 30 and 20 years for Disla and Castillo, respectively, a request that was not accepted by the judges.

The First Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo, after analyzing the evidence submitted to it, proceeded to sentence Corporal Janli Disla Batista to 20 years in prison for voluntary homicide and psychological abuse, and Rafael Castillo Novas to 10 years in prison for complicity

On the day she was murdered, Leslie Rosado left the Nautical Club in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo East, heading towards the National District.
