The investment property expert will discuss the opportunities of Airbnb as a profitability model
SANTO DOMINGO.-Airbnb, the rental platform that revolutionized the world, is booming in the Dominican Republic, with more than 90,000 housing units available for short-stay guests, according to authorities from the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR).
Therefore, it is a topic of vital interest to real estate agents who need to stay up-to-date in order to advise investors on the advantages of this modality, as well as the business opportunities that arise from this tool that operates in more than 200 countries worldwide.
Isely Almánzar, a prominent real estate leader, is an expert dedicated to this field in Santiago de los Caballeros, and will lend her full endorsement to share it with the participants of the first CENI Expo Forum, which will take place on March 8, at the Catalonia Hotel, Santo Domingo.
“From a very young age, my independent character and ability to achieve financial stability were predominant. I always had a love and passion for work, and that's exactly how I started my career in sales,” says the director of KW Norte.
He recounts that he started working in the family movie rental business at the age of 13, and from there he learned about customer service and how to meet consumer needs.
“This experience allowed me, at the age of 18, to start selling advertising for local TV programs, and although it was truly one of the most difficult jobs, I can say that today I am grateful for that training.”.
Almánzar holds a degree in business administration, a postgraduate degree in general management, and is a leading coach at Barna Management School, a Luxury Real Estate Advisor, and a real estate sales mentor. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, CEO of LEEV, among many other roles.

He explains that managing advertising placements helped him with sales management and learning about the power of persuasion, something he considers fundamental in the real estate business.
As a mother, Isely felt the need to be in a job that was more flexible and allowed her to dedicate time to motherhood.
“That’s how I got into the real estate business, through the recommendation of friends who were already in the business and proposed that I join a team within a franchise.”.
He recounts that as he progressed in his profession, he felt the desire to have something of his own, and that's when he created a small company associated with two foreign colleagues, an undertaking that was interrupted when he had to leave for the United States for a year.
“Upon my return from the USA and with the experience I had already acquired, I started as an independent agent in Santiago. Here I began to connect with builders and I realized a weakness that existed in the market, which no one had exploited, and that was the rental of furnished apartments.”.
This is how her rental career began. Almánzar was the executive director of the Cibao Association of Housing Developers and Builders (APROCOVICI) and founder of the Remax Norte franchise.
Currently, professional development and job opportunities allowed him to acquire the region for the country of Keller Williams Dominicana, "a license that allows me, along with 9 other associates, to sell franchises nationwide.".
“We are a team of more than 300 people across the country, where our culture is based on three fundamental aspects: first God, then family, and lastly business. This aligns with the values that define me as a human being,” he explains.
Almánzar is part of the board of directors of the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies (AEI).
“I’m passionate about this business because, through it, I’ve been able to meet the industry’s leading figures who share their experiences with us, both nationally and internationally. Among all the experiences I’ve had, one phrase has always stuck with me: If you’re going to do something, always do it the way the best in the world would. (Regardless of whether you win or not). And that’s how I’ve always grown and tried to make an impact on others,” concludes the Cibao native. Don’t miss this interesting presentation.
