In Tamarindo, Santo Domingo East, Abinader presented the 100,000th title certificate

SANTO DOMINGO.– The Presidency of the Republic reported that during the first four years of government, President Luis Abinader surpassed 100,000 property titles delivered in different parts of the country.

Adolfa Fabián, from the El Tamarindo land titling project, was all smiles and beaming this Saturday as she received from the president the certificate confirming her as the 100,000th beneficiary of this extensive program. President Abinader also stated that her home will be remodeled and delivered to her "brand new," according to a press release.

In El Tamarindo, President Abinader presented a total of 3,541 certificates. (External source).

The head of state expressed his desire to hand over another 300,000 property titles upon leaving office. 

The Tamarind

The total of 100,000 titles was reached with the delivery of 1,624 certificates, in the El Tamarindo sector of Santo Domingo East.

These are part of the last and fourth stage of the titling project in El Tamarindo, which totals 3,541 certificates and was divided into four stages, impacting a total of 12,788 families.

The first three were held on January 18, March 12 and June 2, the press release reports.

The director of the Technical Executive Unit, Duarte Méndez, explained that in these four years 180 operational meetings were held and 48 project launches were carried out, which have become 58 titling projects in 29 provinces.

In total, 103,472,266.50 meters were measured and demarcated, requiring 14 legal processes.

Savings

As on every occasion, the work carried out by the Technical Executive Unit, together with National Assets, saves economic resources for the beneficiaries, achieved up to this point, with 99,746 title certificates, RD 8,262,240,000.00.    

Meanwhile, this delivery totals RD$276,080,000, meaning a minimum of RD$80,000 for each home or plot of land.

Duarte Méndez thanked the institutions that made this possible, mentioning the Ministry of the Presidency, headed by Joel Santos; National Assets and the State Sugar Council (CEA), directed by Rafael Burgos Gómez; the Dominican Agrarian Institute, directed by Francisco Guillermo García; the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed), headed by Carlos Bonilla, and the General Directorate of the National Cadastre, headed by Héctor Pérez Mirambeaux.

Future projects

He also added that a total of 57 degree projects are being developed, which are projected to become 104,652 degree certificates.

Likewise, together with the Ministry of Housing and Buildings and National Assets, another 33 condominium projects are being worked on, to title a total of 9,938 functional units.
