SANTO DOMINGO.-On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Dominican Association of Hardware Stores (ASODEFE) held a meeting in which it recognized businessman José Luis Corripio Estrada (Pepin), along with a group of founding members, for the impetus they have provided to keep the entity relevant 50 years later.
Engineer Arturo Espinal, president of the organization, explained in his statement that the recognition of the outstanding businessman was given because "he gave us the necessary impetus to begin this journey of service to his associates that today reaches its 50th anniversary.".
"For his unconditional support and accompaniment," says the plaque that was received by José Alfredo Corripio, on behalf of his father, who highlighted his father's work at Asodefe.

Along with businessman Pepín, 20 members of Asodofe were awarded for their years of commitment and dedication to the hardware store association, founded during the end of the fall of the dictatorship of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, in 1961.
Espinal was also awarded a surprise merit during the meeting.
“Thank God for the opportunity to be here in front of you at such a special moment for my beloved Association,” he said, while also expressing his gratitude to those who have contributed to the prosperity of the organization.
Espinal took advantage of each of his interventions to express his joy for the fiftieth anniversary of the institution, while the members of the 2018-2022 board and previous councils expressed their excitement for another birthday, wishing to celebrate together 100 years of service to their associates.
Cándida Mejía, an executive at Lanco Dominicana, received a gold pin.
During the event, they presented a video that tells the story of Asodefe and its evolution, paying tribute to those who are no longer with us.
