SANTO DOMINGO – President Luis Abinader inaugurated 120 homes this Saturday as part of the Praderas del Norte project in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, Santo Domingo Oeste, representing an investment of 342.5 million pesos. Of these, 56 belong to the Happy Family National Housing Plan.
The Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos, said that the owners of the 56 houses belonging to the Housing Plan will receive state aid of 240,000 pesos, which will reduce the monthly payment (they will pay 4,000 pesos for the interest rate bonus for seven years).

In addition, they will receive 172,000 pesos for the ITBIS bonus, which will be applied to the initial payment of the home by the General Directorate of Internal Taxes, and 135,000 pesos for the bonus from the Ministry of Women.
He announced that the National Housing Plan includes 126 projects, 42 of which are currently under development across the country. He stated that “between now and the first quarter of next year, 2,500 homes will be delivered to the same number of families in the Dominican Republic.”.

According to the assessment conducted by the Single Beneficiary System (Siuben), the average beneficiary of this distribution is a woman between 23 and 64 years old with a family of four. She must reside in a rented dwelling with block or concrete walls, a zinc roof, and a cement floor.
