During the 43rd edition of FITUR, the International Tourism Fair, which recently concluded in Madrid, Spain, it was announced that in 2023 Samaná will launch flights arriving directly from Lisbon and Madrid.
The information was released during an agreement signed between the Ministry of Tourism and Soltour, a leading independent tour operator in Spain, which promotes this tourist destination, located in the northeast of the country, in Europe.
“The main new feature for this year will be the direct flights from Lisbon and Madrid to Samaná,” declared Tomeu Benassar, CEO of Soltour Travel Partners, during the signing.
A statement maintains that in the agreement the company commits to continue working on the promotion of Samaná, an exclusive Soltour destination, "offering travelers from Spain and Portugal a quality product, with the guarantee of in-depth knowledge of the destination and the best services available.".
The company states that the alliance reaffirms the continuity of the close relationship between the company and the Dominican Republic.
Benassar expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating his satisfaction in working with "the Dominican government because it always receives our value-added proposals in a constructive manner.".
“This agreement, which we expect will bring 60,000 travelers from Spain and Portugal to the Dominican Republic, is yet another example. The main new feature this year will be direct flights from Lisbon and Madrid to Samaná, in addition to new products such as golf packages, designed to attract an increasingly high-end traveler segment.”.
The event was attended by the Soltour and Grupo Piñero team and Tammy Reynoso, Vice Minister of Development of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic.
The collaboration was sealed with a culinary experience led by the ambassador and expert of the new Dominican cuisine, the renowned Chef Tita, through a live showcooking, who offered a gastronomic journey through the different regions of the Dominican Republic to the attendees of the Soltour Summit.
The company highlighted the cuisine as another of the country's great attractions. “For this reason, Soltour wanted to showcase the exquisite and extensive gastronomic offerings of this Caribbean destination at FITUR and, with the help of the renowned Chef Tita, organized a culinary journey through the aromas, flavors, and essences of the three regions of this unique and distinctive Caribbean land at its Summit. A show in which Chef Tita shared the secrets of Dominican cuisine through the country's most traditional recipes.”.
