Corvi conducts workshops to raise its quality standards

These technical training sessions began in May of this year and have impacted 336 people, including clients, builders, and students.

SANTO DOMINGO.- With the aim of contributing to raising the quality standards of PVC pipe and fitting installations in buildings, the Dominican company Corvi, a leader in pipe manufacturing, is conducting regular workshops for its clients.

The training covers technical manufacturing topics, product standards, laboratory testing, and includes a visit to production areas. Participants leave with a clear understanding of the appropriate pipe type for each application, based on the Nordom 855 standard, "Technical Standards of the Dominican Republic," endorsed by Indocal.

These technical training sessions began in May of this year and have reached 336 people, including clients, builders, and students. This will positively impact construction costs through the correct use and improved selection of products that meet the expected long lifespan.

Currently, there is a high rate of repairs in buildings, and consequently, the costs end up affecting the end user. However, this initiative will lead to better criteria for material selection, and builders and end users will be able to become more aware of the impact of these key decisions on the proper functioning of piping systems.

Among the participating clients are: L. Estrella; Centro Acopio Banilejo; Bellón; Comercializadora El Rosario; Ferretería Detallista; Ferretería Ochoa; Mercantil del Caribe; Manuel Corripio; Distribuidora 0212; Alvrod Mercantil; Deposito Ferretero; Ferretería La Grande Rasoa; Hache; Comercial 2000 and plumbing students from the Instituto de Formación Técnico Profesional (Infotep).

These training sessions take place at the facilities of the participating companies and others at the Corvi production plant located on the Duarte Highway at Kilometer 24. During the activity, participants also tour the different stages of the production process at the plant and received information about the Corvi Sonaca brand.

Corvi emphasized that these training programs benefit the country because the stronger its national body is in its knowledge of standardization, the greater the opportunities and tools that the different stakeholders (consumer, State, companies, society) can take advantage of.
