Asociación Cibao announces changes to its Board of Directors

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Cibao Association announced the formation of its Board of Directors for the period 2026-2029, elected by the Annual Ordinary General Assembly of Associates held on March 30, 2026.

The plenary is made up of José Ramón Vega Batlle, Teófilo de Jesús Gómez Rodríguez, José Tomás Cruz Rodríguez, José Santiago Reynoso Pérez, Ángel María Castillo Brito, Edwin Ramón Reyes Arias, Pablo Ceferino Espaillat Galán, Pablo Julián Pérez Fernández, Laura Victoria Acra Brache, José Luis Ventura Castaños, Sayka Dayara Mejía Ortega and Javier León Hernández.

Following the assembly, the Board of Directors elected its officers from among its members, including José Ramón Vega Batlle as president; Teófilo de Jesús Gómez Rodríguez, first vice president; José Tomás Cruz Rodríguez, second vice president; and José Santiago Reynoso Pérez, secretary. 

“I am deeply grateful for the appointment as president of the Board of Directors of Asociación Cibao, a transparent entity with high levels of governance, committed to economic and social development. We remain committed to strengthening our institution, our leadership, and our services with a focus on the well-being of people,” Vega stated. 

During the assembly, the institution recognized Rafael Genao Arias for his work as president of the Board of Directors since June 2020, a period during which he contributed to the institutional consolidation of the organization.

He also expressed his gratitude for the work of Damián Eladio González, a member of the Board since March 2019, who chaired the Security and Crisis Management Committee and was part of the Audit and Strategic Management Committees; as well as that of Ángel Nery Castillo, a member of the plenary since November 2007, who at different times was part of the Corporate Governance and Compliance Committee and chaired the Comprehensive Risk Management Committee.

In a statement, the entity highlighted that these changes respond to what is established in its Social Statutes and the Internal Regulations of the Board of Directors, which reaffirms governance, transparency and focus on strengthening its leadership, sustainability, innovation and operational excellence.

The Board of Directors of Asociación Cibao reaffirmed its commitment to the institution's strategic priorities, including sustainable growth, digital transformation, and strengthening its impact in the communities where it operates.

Vega Batlle graduated with honors (Cum Laude) from the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra with a Bachelor of Laws degree. He also holds a specialization in Civil Law from the University of Law, Economics and Social Sciences of Paris II, France. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Asociación Cibao since April 1, 2002. Until March 2026, he served as Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Compliance Committee and as a member of the Comprehensive Risk Management Committee.
