SANTO DOMINGO.- The British Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (BritChamDR) presented the main results of the management of the Board of Directors 2024-2026, the financial statements of the institution and the achievements reached during the period, while electing new representatives.
During its 2026 Annual General Meeting, the members who will lead the organization during the 2026-2028 period were appointed.
Rayan Polanco, from Liftag, will serve as president; Rebeca García, from OMG, as vice president; Omar Del Orbe, from PWC, as treasurer; and Juan Tomás Díaz, from United Petroleum Group Haina, as secretary.
The following were appointed as directors: Anyarlene Bergés (INICIA), María del Pilar Díaz (British Motors), Ramsés Seliman (Media Net Partners), Hortensia Pérez (Diageo Dominicana), José Jiménez (United Brands), Gilda Vásquez (Altice Dominicana.), Robinson Bou (Banco Popular Dominicano), Jorge Sturla (Central Romana Corp), Alejandro Rodríguez (AutoBritánica Ltd.), Francesca Ortiz (Pernod Ricard Dominicana) and Nathalie Abreu (De Camps Vásquez & Valera Abogados).
Carol Van der Walt, ambassador of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland to the Dominican Republic and Haiti, was also ratified as honorary president.
“My vision for our Chamber rests on three main pillars. The first is to create the greatest possible value for our members; the second pillar will be to grow BritChamDR; and the third pillar will be to deepen integration between the United Kingdom and the Dominican Republic,” Ryan emphasized in his remarks.
Key milestones
During the meeting, the main milestones achieved by BritChamDR during the 2024-2026 period were highlighted, emphasizing the institutional strengthening of the Chamber, the organization of the 11th edition of Dominican Week in London, the consolidation of strategic alliances, the promotion of bilateral trade and the development of initiatives in the areas of sustainability, culture and education.
In addition, they highlighted the celebration of the 9th, 10th and 11th editions of the British Polo Cup, the 25th and 26th editions of the British Golf Cup and the Young Musician of the Caribbean Award program, as part of the actions that strengthen the ties between the United Kingdom and the Dominican Republic.
The British Chamber of Commerce expressed its gratitude for the trust placed in it by its members and welcomed the new Board of Directors, which pledged to continue promoting initiatives aimed at strengthening trade ties, investment and cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Dominican Republic, fostering an increasingly robust, innovative and connected business community.
