SANTO DOMINGO.– Architect George Richardson is the newly elected president of the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) for the 2026-2027 term. His was the only slate of candidates in the recent election.
"I assume this commitment with humility, responsibility, and the firm conviction to work tirelessly for the well-being of all members in every corner of the country," the new representative of the Codianos posted on his Instagram.
He thanked each member of the college who, with their vote, trust and support, made his election possible.

The single slate of candidates running to lead the union is comprised of a team of professionals committed to supporting the president-elect's administration within the organization. They will be joined by surveyor Rafael Ferreras, treasurer; engineer César Ramírez, general secretary; engineer Carlos de los Santos, public relations secretary; engineer Dahianna de la Rosa, inter-union relations secretary; agricultural engineer Yrene López, recording secretary; and Ramón Arturo Martínez Acosta, education and events secretary.

George Richardson is a prominent architect, urban planner, sculptor and visual artist, linked to the codiano world, of which he was general secretary during the last board led by Enrique Rosario García.
He was a professor of visual arts at the Santa Ana Polytechnic Institute. Currently, he directs the Urban Planning Department of the
Dominican Municipal League and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Latin American Cities Forum (FC-ALC). As an urban planner and architect, he develops designs for parks, boulevards, plazas, and entrances to municipalities and municipal districts. He also works with landscaping and ponds, and participated in the design of the Memorial Museum of the Dominican Resistance, highlighting his professional profile.
