The American expert shared strategies for building real estate businesses with vision, leadership, and sustainable growth
SANTO DOMINGO.- International speaker Suz Amaro, from the United States, presented the talk “Five Super Approaches to the Evolution of Your Business” during the VII AEI International Congress: Real Estate Evolution 2026, held at the Catalonia Santo Domingo Hotel.
The renowned high-performing coach and expert in building cultures by design indicated that "clarity of the future" is the first approach that real estate professionals should take into account.
During his talk, he explained that businesses should be built on the vision the entrepreneur wants to achieve, and not solely based on money or sales. In that context, he emphasized the importance of aligning the company's actions with its values.
He argued that market players must understand that success is not only measured by revenue, but also by the freedom that the business is able to provide.
"If it doesn't have your values, if it doesn't have what is truly important to you, all the money in the world will be useless," he said, reflecting on the matter.
Amaro pointed to “clarity of the numbers” as the next key focus. He emphasized that business owners cannot properly manage a business if they are unaware of its financial and commercial indicators.
Based on that premise, he highlighted the importance of understanding monetary behavior over the past years, months, and weeks through indicators and analytical tools, in order to measure results and make more informed decisions.
Regarding the third pillar, he addressed the “clarity of the business model”, whose central focus is that professionals define the type of company they wish to build in order to assume the responsibilities involved.
In that regard, he explained the importance of differentiating between being an independent agent, being part of an agency, or managing one. From this distinction, he moved on to the fourth pillar: “Clarity of your role as a leader or owner.
During her presentation, Suz Amaro outlined the characteristics of each scenario. She indicated that being an independent agent provides greater freedom to make decisions, although it also demands a high level of discipline and organization.
In contrast, he stated that joining an agency requires identifying with its philosophy, culture, and values. He said this means moving beyond competition and learning to collaborate, as teamwork accelerates growth.
Regarding those who run an agency, he maintained that they must develop a vision capable of attracting people aligned with a common purpose. He explained that this model requires strengthening leadership and thinking long-term.
“You are the one who sets the standard, but for that you have to grow, for that you have to train yourself as a leader, you have to nourish yourself with mindsets, habits and tools that will take you to that place,” he said, referring to the business model based on running an agency.
Finally, the speaker addressed the importance of a clear growth and expansion plan, noting that business growth should occur in an orderly and phased manner. She cautioned that expanding without a solid foundation can jeopardize the company's sustainability.
