César Latrilla explained how this mixed-use complex seeks to integrate housing, hotels, retail, and event spaces, as well as attract investment and boost the local economy
SANTO DOMINGO– The integration of residential, commercial, tourist and service spaces in the same complex is one of Noval Properties' commitments to contribute to the urban transformation of Santo Domingo East through Coralia, a mixed-use real estate initiative located on Avenida España, facing the Caribbean Sea.
The vision was presented by César Latrilla, CEO of Noval Properties, during his participation in the ACOSDE 2026 Business Congress, organized by the Santo Domingo East Builders Association. At the event, the executive spoke about the project's potential to attract capital, generate jobs, and expand economic opportunities in the area.
During a panel led by the mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Dío Astacio, Latrilla presented the concept of Coralia as an urban planning model that seeks to bring together different activities in the same environment, with the purpose of boosting economic and social dynamism beyond the residential sphere.
Along those lines, he explained that the combination of housing, hospitality, retail, convention facilities and meeting areas would allow the complex to remain active at different times of the day, while attracting both residents and visitors.
"Coralia brings together residences, hospitality, commerce, a convention center, and meeting spaces all in one place. This mix gives people different reasons to live, stay, visit, and work in the area," the executive said.
He also pointed out that the impact of an initiative of this nature transcends the buildings that comprise it, as it can extend to nearby businesses and establishments through the arrival of visitors, the creation of jobs, and the increase in commercial operations.
"Coralia is not just conceived as a collection of towers. It is conceived as a piece of the city. That is what it can contribute to Santo Domingo East," Latrilla stated.
The importance of international allies in developing Coralia
Furthermore, one of the issues raised during the discussion was the challenge of carrying out a real estate project of this magnitude in the Dominican Republic, especially given the financial, technical, and operational capabilities it requires.
In this regard, Latrilla maintained that an initiative of such magnitude requires the support of partners with experience in the promotion, construction and management of large infrastructures in international markets.
“A development of this magnitude requires strong allies. At Coralia, we have international partners with extensive experience around the world. This combination of global experience and local knowledge is what allows us to turn a vision of this scale into a reality,” he explained.
In that regard, the CEO highlighted the need to combine knowledge of the Dominican market with the experience of international collaborators to materialize a vision that aspires to influence the urban expansion and economic growth of Santo Domingo East.
A mixed-use complex facing the Caribbean Sea
In terms of its dimensions, Coralia includes a master plan comprised of six residential towers of around 50 levels, a hotel building and a convention center with an approximate capacity for 6,000 people.
The location on Avenida España, facing the Caribbean Sea, is part of Noval Properties' strategy to consolidate a space that brings together different activities and diversifies the residential, tourist, commercial and event offerings of Santo Domingo Este.
The presentation took place during the ACOSDE 2026 Business Congress, held under the theme "Building the future: innovation, investment and urban development for a more competitive Dominican Republic.".
The event brought together builders, real estate developers, representatives of financial institutions and authorities, with the aim of examining the challenges and opportunities presented by the urban and business expansion of the region.
With this participation, Noval Properties reiterated its commitment to Coralia and to a vision of growth that articulates private investment, territorial planning and the creation of new economic opportunities for Santo Domingo East.
