Today, December 9th, is "International Anti-Corruption Day".
SANTO DOMINGO– On “International Anti-Corruption Day,” and at a time when the Dominican justice system is processing several cases of alleged corruption, President Luis Abinader will deliver a surprise address to the Dominican people at 9:00 p.m. tonight, according to Homero Figueroa, Director of Government Strategy and Communication.
The government prefers to keep the content of the speech a surprise, so Figueroa did not want to give details about what the president will talk about and only revealed that it will be about a topic long awaited by the citizens.
Abinader's message will be broadcast on a radio and television network. This Thursday, September 9, is International Anti-Corruption Day.
Today, the president is participating virtually in the Summit for Democracy, led by US President Joe Biden. On Friday and Saturday, Abinader will host the Summit of the Alliance for Development in Democracy in Puerto Plata, with the presidents of Costa Rica and Panama, to address the region's challenges.
