SANTO DOMINGO.– A group of Uruguayan businessmen recently visited the country to explore potential investments in real estate tourism and learn about the incentives the country offers for foreign investment.
Representatives from the Imperium Group, a real estate and construction company, were received at the Dominican Confederation of Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Construction Companies (Copymecon). The delegation was comprised of construction industry professionals from Uruguay. The organization also engages in property sales, investor consulting, and training real estate agents across various continents through its Imperium Academy.
Eliseo Cristopher, president of Copymecon, explained that the visit originated from the delegation's interest in learning how the sector works in the country, the legal guarantees, aspects of permitting laws, and the Trust Law that creates a unified legal framework to promote the development of the mortgage market in our country, to guarantee foreign investment and allow the development of housing and tourism projects.
“These Uruguayan businesspeople are based in different parts of the world, such as the Southern Cone, Central America, Europe and our country, and upon learning about the projects we are developing, they have decided to visit us with the main objective of learning about the projects we are developing in different parts of the country and reviewing the mechanisms to invest through them and develop tourism projects,” details a press release.
Christopher and other Copymecon executives present at the reception highlighted the rule of law in the country and the investment guarantees that exist, which underscore the economic growth experienced in recent years.
They emphasized to the Uruguayans the strength and guarantees offered by the laws in the country, which grow every year, highlighting the guarantees for investments in the Dominican Republic for all who wish to invest, regardless of the amount.
The delegation of Uruguayan businessmen was accompanied by a Dominican diplomatic commission in Uruguay, headed by Ambassador Fidel Santana, Carlos Alberto Núñez, Consul General of the Republic in Hamburg, Germany; and Arcenidio Valenzuela, Counselor in charge of the Commercial Section.
In addition to Cristopher, the Copymecon commission was made up of Eunice Pinales, Yasiry Jackson, Danilo Hidalgo, Nelson Guzmán Diplan, Chief of Staff of the Senate of the Republic and the journalist Wilson Guerrero.
