Tourism reports that "Ritmo de la Costa" continues this December on the Dominican boardwalks

SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) announced that the Ritmo de la Costa entertainment program continues throughout December, bringing joy to the country's boardwalks with leading merengue artists and contemporary performances.

The festival honoring the national rhythm, merengue, will continue to bring entertainment to Dominican families during the Christmas season and to tourists visiting the country, extending until December 20th on the boardwalks of Caleta de La Romana, Santo Domingo Este, San Pedro and Samaná.

The Ministry of Tourism assures that it has prepared an attractive cultural and artistic program for attendees at the aforementioned tourist destinations on the coasts.

Friday the 12th

Tomorrow, Friday the 12th, the Caleta boardwalk in La Romana will continue the festivities, offering a special space for Dominican salsa with Ritmo de la Costa, featuring a performance by Chiquito Team Band. On Saturday the 13th, the fun moves to Samaná with Sexapeal and to Santo Domingo Este with Peña Suazo y Su Banda Gorda.

The Ministry of Tourism's press release states that the season will conclude on Saturday the 20th in San Pedro de Macorís with a performance by Sergio Vargas. All events begin at 7 pm in the various locations.

New phase

The Ministry of Tourism emphasized that the grand premiere of the program this season was on November 28th, where thousands of people enjoyed performances by iconic artists such as Pochi Familia and his Coco Band on the Haina boardwalk. Meanwhile, Omega, El Fuerte, showcased his entire musical career in urban merengue before a mostly young audience that packed the stage set up on the colorful Caleta de La Romana boardwalk.

On the same stage on Friday, December 5, VAKERÓ had hundreds of people from La Romana singing and dancing to his hits all night long amidst fireworks. Meanwhile, on Saturday the 6th, Chímbala took to the stage on the Samaná boardwalk, and David Kada performed in Santo Domingo East.

On November 29, Miriam Cruz set the Malecón of Santo Domingo Este ablaze, attracting a huge crowd who danced until the end to her songs like “Con agua de sal”, “La carnada”, “Esa loca”, Ta Pillao, and others.

Local talent, traditional music and folklore have been present at Ritmo de La Costa with performances by emerging talents from different localities such as Grupo Santo Domingo, Sonido Latino, Brea Band; Blady Rosario and his Band, the folkloric ballet of the Municipality of Santo Domingo Este, Costa del Faro, highlights the Mitur.

He explains that the presentations are attended by the main local authorities, who have valued the initiative of Mitur with Ritmo de la Costa, to promote national cultural identity, and to bring recreation and joy to the residents of the coastal provinces during this Christmas season.
