The president of ITADO, Fabio Enmanuel García, stated that the organization he represents has worked hard to achieve a high-quality technical educational event with a wide variety of topics in the field of valuation.
PUNTA CANA – With over 350 participants, the 35th Pan-American ITADO/UPAV Congress began here yesterday. Eighteen presentations on diverse topics will keep appraisal professionals up-to-date, in a series of events that will continue until today, Friday, October 22.
During the inauguration, the Dominican Institute of Appraisers (ITADO) and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) signed an agreement for the development of appraisals of land that the State needs to purchase.
The agreement was signed by Minister Deligne Ascensión and ITADO President Fabio García. The event is being held at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana.
Ascensión gave a keynote address at the opening, where he addressed the issue of property value increases for the construction of public works in the Dominican Republic.
"The paving of urban streets in a neighborhood, sector or urbanization generates a greater commercial appetite for the surrounding properties, causing, as has been observed, an increase in the value of the square meter of land that can be estimated from 10% to more than 60% in some cases," states a press document sent to El Inmobiliario by the communication department of the organizing entity.
Recently, members of the Appraisal Directorate of the Ministry of Public Works received an update course from ITADO, within the framework of the inter-institutional cooperation actions developed.

During the congress, 27 new interns aspiring to ITADO union membership, 21 new members, and 9 new Dominican members of UPAV will be sworn in.
The Pan-American Union of Valuation Associations (UPAV) brings together 19 appraisers' associations from 18 countries across the Americas and Spain. During the 2021-2022 term, UPAV is chaired by Dominican engineer José Alberto Beras.
ITADO, founded on February 27, 1975, is the only organization of professionals in the appraisal of movable and immovable property that groups, represents and defends its practice, offers technical and specialized training ensuring respect for the code of ethics in the actions of Dominican appraisers.
