Three people missing on Puerto Plata beach

It was prohibited for bathers.

In Puerto Plata, authorities will resume the search this Monday, April 1st, for three missing people, including a Civil Defense volunteer, who was searching for 17-year-old Anderson Tejada, from Santiago, who disappeared on El Bronx beach, near Long Beach in the province of Puerto Plata.

The missing persons are Brianny Díaz Díaz, 29 years old and an active member of the Civil Defense; Anderson González Tejada, 17 years old and from the La Otra Banda sector in Santiago; and José Alberto Chevalier, 29 years old and a resident of San Felipe, Puerto Plata.

Dozens of rescuers, a helicopter from the Dominican Republic Air Force, Civil Defense drones, and watercraft are searching El Bronx beach and surrounding areas for the three missing people. The area is considered high-risk and has numerous reefs and strong waves, which is why it was closed to vacationers.

Camillie's absence was noticed when it was seen that she had left clothes and personal items in the vicinity of the place where the search began.

The beaches of Puerto Plata have been under red flags from Thursday until this Sunday, due to the strong waves and ocean currents caused by the frontal system and a trough affecting the region.

The search for the missing people was suspended at 7:00 p.m. due to adverse sea conditions. It is scheduled to resume at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1st.
