HIGUEY, LA ALTAGRACIA.– Three minors died in a fire that occurred yesterday afternoon, Friday, January 14, 2022, in a house located in the La Gallera sector of Higüey.
The National Police reported that they are looking for the mother of the three minors, one female aged eight and two males aged four and five, whose names are unknown at this time.
He explained that all that is known is that the mother's name is Cassandra and that she is being sought for questioning regarding the incident.

He also explained that she had supposedly left them locked inside the house, causing the fire, which was allegedly caused by a stove that was turned on.
According to a press release, the incident occurred on Juan Julio Pumarol Street S/N in the La Gallera sector of Higüey.
The medical examiner involved in the case reported that the children died from burns.
“Although the firefighters intervened quickly, by the time they arrived at the scene, the fire had almost completely consumed the house,” the report noted.
He revealed that the children remain in the morgue of the Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia Hospital awaiting their mother, whose whereabouts are unknown.
