SANTO DOMINGO – TheDominican Association of Short-Term Investors (ADORECO) announced that it will organize the 1st Short-Term Investors Congress, a space that will bring together for the first time the main players in this industry to analyze regulatory challenges, establish legal foundations and promote regulations that protect property rights and avoid disproportionate provisions.
The congress is scheduled for October 2nd of this year, at the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU), in the National District.
According to the organization, the event aims to foster a broad conversation about the future of short-term rentals in the Dominican Republic and to build, from within the ecosystem itself, a legal proposal that helps protect investments, defend property rights, and professionalize the industry.
He specified that the event will have a specialized audience of 140 leaders, including owners, hosts and property managers who develop short rental operations, as well as representatives of platforms, software companies for property management and service providers.
Also participating will be real estate investors and developers interested in maximizing the return on their investments, as well as representatives of public institutions and trade associations linked to the real estate, tourism and construction sectors.
A space to influence regulation
One of the main objectives of the congress will be to facilitate access to strategic information and generate spaces for participation around the regulatory changes facing the industry.
Participants will be able to learn firsthand about the transformations the sector is undergoing and contribute their perspectives through working groups focused on regulatory discussions.
Its organizers indicated that the program will also cover Revenue Management strategies, aimed at improving the profitability of properties and moving from an approach focused solely on occupancy to one based on revenue optimization.
Additionally, alternative technologies and digital infrastructure will be presented to automate processes and enhance the professionalism of short-term rental operations.
The congress will also incorporate an international perspective through success stories and experiences from other markets that can be adapted to the Dominican reality.
ADORECO highlights that the meeting will also serve as a platform to generate alliances and business connections between owners, operators, technology platforms, service companies, investors and other industry representatives.
With this first edition, the association seeks to bring together the various members of the ecosystem to actively participate in the discussion on the regulatory framework that should accompany the growth and professionalization of short-term investments in the country.
