SANTO DOMINGO.– The National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched the call for the fifth edition of "Promising Practices," inviting companies in the private sector to submit initiatives that promote economic, social, and environmental impacts aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
This initiative recognizes Dominican private sector business strategies that contribute to advancing sustainable development. The selected initiatives will be included in the 2024 Promising Practices catalog, distinguished by their ability to mitigate risks and generate a positive impact on sustainable human development.
In its four editions, 74 initiatives have been recognized, evaluated under the UNDP impact standards, which include criteria such as management strategy, economic, environmental and social impacts, transparency, inclusion and equity, as well as the replicability, scalability, sustainability and resilience of the proposals.

Who can participate?
This call for proposals is aimed at companies, trade associations, and private organizations that wish to showcase innovative projects aligned with sustainability as a fundamental part of their business model. Two participation categories are established: one for micro and small businesses with fewer than 50 employees, and another for medium and large businesses with more than 51 employees, according to a press release.
Application process
Interested companies can submit their proposals through the online form available at https://www.empresassosteniblesrd.org/ , where they will need to create a profile and upload the required supporting documentation.
The deadline for submitting proposals is November 29th. Afterwards, the initiatives will be evaluated by a professional and independent jury who will select the best practices for recognition.
