These are the construction companies that submitted bids to provide solutions for the road structures damaged by Fiona

President Luis Abinader said last night that 31 bridges and several road structures failed during Hurricane Fiona's passage through the country.

SANTO DOMINGO.-The MOPC, Ministry of Public Works and Communications, received this week the proposals for bids for the construction, reconstruction and repair of bridges, roads and culverts in different provinces of the country, affected by the passage of Hurricane Fiona.

A statement from the state agency establishes that the provinces included are Azua, Barahona, San Cristóbal, Independencia, San José de Ocoa, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Rodríguez, Dajabón, Santo Domingo, Espaillat, Monseñor Nouel, Hermanas Mirabal, La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez and Monte Plata.

The event to receive the bids was led by engineer Nelson Maloney, assistant to Minister Deligne Ascensión, in his capacity as president of the institution's Purchasing and Contracting Committee.

The bidding process took place at the headquarters of the MOPC Recreational and Cultural Club, with the participation of 69 bidders in person and 16 virtually, and is carried out under decree number 318-22.

This provision authorizes the MOPC to carry out the processes of purchasing and contracting goods, services and works due to the national emergency exception caused by the passage of Hurricane Fiona.

Exceptional procurement procedures must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic and current regulations on public procurement.
