28 university students, ten practicing professionals and two companies were awarded during an event that brought together the academic and business leadership of the sector.
SANTO DOMINGO.-As part of its commitment to promoting best practices in the industry, the Edwin Dulis Youth in Development Foundation held its awards ceremony for students, professionals and companies for their excellence in the areas of engineering and architecture.
This year, 28 students from various universities across the country, studying civil engineering, industrial engineering, and architecture, were awarded prizes in recognition of their dedication and outstanding academic career.
"Tonight we are resuming an initiative that we started with such enthusiasm almost 30 years ago. It has been a great satisfaction to witness the evolution of talented young people, who have grown and did not give up until they achieved their dream of becoming engineers and architects of excellence," said Jaime González, president of the organization.
In addition to the recognition given to university students by the deans of the country's main universities, recognition was also given to the companies Constructora HAGECO SRL and Campagna Ricart & Asociados, as well as ten architecture and engineering professionals.

During the event, held in the auditorium of the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University, special recognition was given to engineer Blas Almonte, the first student that the foundation recommended to a company thirty (30) years ago, marking a milestone in its work of connecting young talent with the productive sector.
González stated that the future vision of the Edwin Dulis Youth in Development Foundation is geared towards promoting the use of new technologies in engineering and architecture, with a special focus on sustainability and professional ethics.
In that regard, he revealed that the institution is committed to continuing to recognize excellence and encourage the development of professionals who contribute ethically and responsibly to the growth of the country.
The event was supported by universities that offer engineering and architecture degrees in the country, such as the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC), the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and the Ibero-American University (UNIBE), who collaborated in the selection of the award-winning students.
