The ONE says when it is appropriate to place a "census taken" sticker on a house without interviewing the people

SANTO DOMINGO- In cases where residents are not found or do not want to provide information, surveyors can proceed to place "census" stickers on the homes, as reported yesterday by the ONE, the National Statistics Office.

The entity explained, through a statement, that the objective of the X National Population and Housing Census is to gather information on the population and data on housing and households; therefore, registrars can make up to three visits minimum.

“If the entire visit protocol has been exhausted and there is no match with the informant or the informant does not wish to provide information, the label or sticker is placed, and the dwelling is registered in the category of occupied with absent persons,” the ONE indicates.

The same also applies to homes under construction in the completion phase.

The ONE document adds that the registration staff can also leave their phone number to be contacted, if necessary, and coordinate the interview, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In addition, it could allow the informant to leave the printed census form to apply for self-registration to be collected later.

The ONE reported that, since November 24, the process of verifying the data collection and quality has been underway, which will allow them to identify if there is a large number of homes registered with the category of "occupied with absent persons", in order to proceed with a recovery of coverage prior to the application of the closing protocol.

The X National Population and Housing Census was extended until Wednesday, November 30th in order to complete the registration throughout the national territory, due to some setbacks in the fieldwork and with the connection of the tablets to the system during the first 14 days.
